4 - Appeal Allowed for the Conversion of Two Barns

Following the refusal of our application for the extension and conversion of these two stone barns in Saddleworth to dwellings I felt confident that the Council had made the wrong decision in this case. We lodged an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate, putting forward a strong argument that the buildings were in a suitable location for residential use. The Planning Inspector agreed and allowed the appeal. Working with Progressive Architecture a scheme was designed which was sympathetic to the traditional appearance of the farm buildings and their Green Belt location.
